(BEIJING, September 11) -- Considered "the world's most nature-like Triathlon venue," the picturesque setting of the Changping Triathlon Venue at the Ming Tombs Reservoir will be home to the 2007 Beijing BG Triathlon World Cup.
The Triathlon World Cup's three events include: 1.5 km swim; 40 km bike race; and 10 km distance run. The swimming event will take place in the Ming Tombs Reservoir; the 680 m bike track will be along the right bank of the Dongsha River Road; and the distance run will be held in a natural "oxygen bar" outdoors.
The Changping Triathlon Venue covers an area of 11,767 sq. m. and consists of five parts: the large damn construction; spectator stands; functional rooms and auxiliary buildings; Dongsha River Road right bank buildings; and water and electric utility buildings.
The recently delivered venue will hold the 2007 Beijing BG Triathlon World Cup from September 15-16, 2007 -- the final Triathlon competition to be held prior to the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
