(Beijing, September 15) The women's final of the 2007 Beijing BG Triathlon World Cup ended in the Changping Triathlon Venue this afternoon. Laura Bennett of the United States took the bronze medal with a time of 2:02:06. After the event, she gave an interview to the media.

Speaking of the competition today, Laura Bennett said, "I'm satisfied with my performance. Last time I didn't do well, but today I avoided making the same mistake. I've been training very hard in hopes of surpassing my opponents, though they have also made great progress."

Commenting on the 10km run, Laura Bennett said, "I lagged behind the others in the first two laps, but I tried to make myself relaxed and go all out to finish the race as fast as possible. I think I well deserve the medal I've got."

About the champion of the women's triathlon, Portugal's Vanessa Fernandes, Laura Bennett said, "She is an excellent triathlete. She led the other competitors all the time and ran faster and faster. It is difficult to compete with her but I tried my very best."

During the competition, Laura Bennett said, she and her teammate Sarah Haskins encouraged each other. "We support each other and hope we can participate in the Olympic Games next year."
