(Beijing, September 16) The men's final of the "Good Luck Beijing" BG Triathlon World Cup concluded at the Changping Triathlon Venue at the Ming Tombs Reservoir on September 16. China's Zhang Yiming ranked 64th with a result of 1:58:22. After the competition, he gave an interview to the media.

Commenting on his performance today, Zhang Yiming seemed not so satisfied. "The result was not so good, as I ranked 49th last year. The main reason was my injury, and therefore my training had not been so systemic."

When asked about the gap between Chinese and the world's best triathletes, Zhang Yiming said, "Obviously the gap is huge. China is a late-comer in the sport, and Chinese athletes lag far behind in running. We have no problem with the venue, but we have to deal with such problems as mental pressure and injuries."

On future development of the sport in China, Zhang Yiming is full of confidence. "Though there is a huge gap between the world's best and ourselves, I believe that we will make constant progress and gradually catch up with them," he said.
